Flexible joints are sometimes also known as unrestrained joints. This because they can be used in so many different ways and are much less confined in terms of their potential use than the alternative type of joints. Unrestrained pipes tend to be used with uniaxial pipes. These need pressure support and thats what these joints provide, making them the ideal fit. The best flexible joints are also very easy to use and install, so they shouldnt cause you any problems, even if you havent fitted one before.
Its important to have components made from safe, secure and wear resistant materials when youre running a business in the food industry. Our flexible joints are used by many such companies and thats because they are strong enough to hold up under pressure. Theyre also improved by food safety regulators too. Its not all about the food industry, though. There are plenty of other kinds of businesses and industries that we supply flexible joints to. For example, companies that work with harsh chemicals need strong and flexible joints that can withstand exposure to such chemicals. We provide silicone-free materials that can be used in the production of plastics. Our materials are also solvent resistant, which can be used at very high temperatures. On top of that, gas and oil can also be accommodated by our flexible joints, as can something as simple as water. A lot of bases are covered the flexible joints on offer.
Flexible Expansion Joints Applications
1) The alignment of the piping system should be adjusted and secured with fixation points as close as possible on each side of the expansion joint at a distance less than 3 times the pipes nominal diameter.
2) These fixation points must be installed when mounting an expansion joint with control rods or in a case of an elbow pipe. If there is considerable distance between 2 fixation points, guiding points can be installed in order to support and guide the pipe (cf. installation scheme)
3)(a) When installing, take care the rubber expansion joints dont support compression or extension due to the weight of the upstream or downstream pipe.
Mounting Order:
1 Upstream pipe; anchor
2 Downstream pipe; anchor
3 Expansion joint.
3)(b) When installing the rubber expansion joint take care (specially for type AMU) that it must not be twisted in any case.
