5 Advantages of Q-Switched Nd: YAG Laser - Denver

Not all ideas are keepers. But when that idea becomes a tattoo, that regret can lead you to searching for effective tattoo removal.

Check now

When it comes to laser removal, however, not all lasers are created equal. As tattoos become more and more common, it makes sense that the tools used to remove them have become more advanced through the years. Over the last 10 years, the go-to laser of choice has been quality-switched or &#;Q-Switched&#; lasers.

In this article, we will give you a brief look at the many advantages of using the Q-Switched Nd: YAG laser for precise tattoo removal.

Advantage #1: They Are Non-Ablative

When an ablative laser is used on the skin, the laser removes thin layers of skin tissue as it works. While they can be effective in tattoo removal, scar removal, or other skin treatments, they generally require some downtime to heal so your skin can rejuvenate.

With a non-ablative laser like the Q-Switched, skin tissue is not removed. That means you can resume your normal activities right after since your skin will be a lot less sensitive from the treatment. Additionally, you won&#;t have to stay indoors and away from the sun after treatment.

Advantage #2: Quick Treatment and Zero Downtime

Typical laser treatments usually require numbing injections followed by anywhere up to 2 hours to complete the work that needs to be done. However, a treatment using the Q-Switched laser means no waiting for your skin to numb and a low average of 20 minutes for the full treatment.

After a typical laser treatment, you&#;ll also need downtime to heal. That means time away from work or the things you love to do as your skin settles down. However, the Q-Switched laser doesn&#;t cause the same pain and irritation as traditional lasers which means you&#;re back to your daily routine as soon as you walk out the door.

Advantage #3: It&#;s Safe for Delicate Areas

Tattoos come in all shapes and sizes, but they also get applied in all kinds of places. Some of these places, like the face, neck, ear, lips, or groin, are so delicate that getting the tattoo was painful, and getting it removed will also be.

However, the Q-Switch laser is much more gentle than regular lasers and safe for all areas. Since it keeps the top layer of skin intact, having a tattoo removed from a not-so-fun place to get tattooed won&#;t be a horrible experience.

Advantage #4: Effective on Even the Most Stubborn Inks

Not all tattoo inks are equal when it comes to how easily they can be removed. Some inks are downright stubborn. Black is an easy color for the laser to target, but when you get into reds, blues, or greens, the laser has to work a little harder to get the job done. However, the short bursts of energy created by the Q-Switched laser pack a punch and can get through even the most stubborn colors for the immaculate results clients are looking for.

Advantage #5: It&#;s Multifaceted

The Q-Switched laser doesn&#;t just leave tattoo removal clients satisfied. This laser is powerful enough to be used successfully with all kinds of skin treatments including:

  • Pigmented lesions like age spots and sun damage

  • Spider veins

  • Skin rejuvenation

Tattoo removal treatment with Q-Switch NDYAG Laser

Although getting a tattoo may seem like a very good idea at first, our opinion may change over time and we may not want to see our tattoo anymore. Thanks to the developments in laser technology, it is possible to safely and effectively remove the permanent ink used during the tattooing process from the skin.

How do lasers work in tattoo removal?

Lasers used in tattoo removal break the artificial pigment into small pieces. Pieces of ink that are cut into small pieces are removed by cells that are part of our immune system, which we call macrophages. Completion of laser pulses within nanoseconds is one of the most important factors preventing the burning of the tissue around the pigment and the formation of scars. Another important factor is that sufficient energy reaches the tissue for pigment breakdown. High energy levels can cause tissue damage, while low energy levels may be insufficient to break down the pigment.

Which laser is tattoo removal done with?

Q switch NDYAG lasers are the gold standard of choice in tattoo removal. Since the light created by Q switch ND YAG lasers is not trapped by the skin&#;s own color pigment melanin, the risk of leaving light or dark marks on the skin after tattoo removal is very low.

While black tattoos can be treated with Q switch NDYAG () lasers, lasers of different wavelengths are required to remove multicolored tattoos.

Q-switch Frequency doubled NDYAG (532nm) : for removing red and orange tattoos

Q-switch Ruby (694nm): It is used to remove green and dark tattoo particles. Except for very fair-skinned people, the use of this laser may cause the formation of unwanted spots and scars.

Q-switch Alexandrite (755nm): Its highest activity is in green pigments, but it is not effective in red, orange, brown colors. Since it is a low-energy laser, it is very unlikely to cause undesirable color change in the natural color of the skin.

What are the side effects of tattoo removal?

As with all procedures, laser treatments also carry some risks. Possible side effects: light-dark discoloration of the skin, darkening of the tattoo, blistering, allergic reaction or development of scars may occur. The likelihood of these side effects may vary depending on the tattoo structure, the device used and personal characteristics. Blistering is a condition that can be seen during the normal recovery period after the procedure.

Skin care is very important during the recovery period after the procedure, so it is recommended that you choose an experienced specialist who can follow your healing process together with you, after laser application.

How many sessions does laser tattoo removal take?

Although it varies according to the structure and location of the tattoo, an average of 6 sessions with an interval of 6 weeks can be recommended.

What are the prices of laser tattoo removal?

Tattoo removal application fee may vary depending on the size and location of the tattoo.
