The TV's SDR peak brightness is average, as it does not get bright enough to effectively combat glare. Additionally, it features an aggressive Automatic Brightness Limiter (ABL), which dims large bright areas. This is not ideal for those using it as a PC monitor or for viewing sports like hockey.

We conducted tests in an air-conditioned room at approximately 73°F (23°C). The brightness results in individual windows remained unchanged when compared to our initial tests. However, after allowing the TV to cool down following peak brightness measurements, we recorded an increase of nearly 20 nits in Real Scene brightness. While this increase is not significant, cooling the display does allow for slightly brighter output.

The measurements provided below were taken after calibration with the following settings:

Disabling Peak Luminance results in a significantly dimmer overall image. However, this also eliminates brightness variation between different scenes, as indicated in the measurements below:

• Peak 50% Window: 126 cd/m²
• Peak 100% Window: 119 cd/m²
• Sustained 2% Window: 114 cd/m²

If you desire the brightest image possible and prioritize brightness over accuracy, switch to the 'Vivid' Picture Mode. Set the Brightness and Contrast to their maximum levels, enable Live Color, Advanced Contrast Enhancer, and set Peak Luminance to 'High', with the Color Temperature adjusted to 'Cool'. This results in a peak brightness of 766 cd/m² in the 2% window.
